100th birthday card

I was asked to make a 100th birthday card by a family member.

I had to put a lot of thought into this one as I wasn't entirely sure what kind of card you made for someone turning 100!

In the end I settled on simple, classic design.

Just hope that she likes it.

I used a lot three different papers from the fairyopolis paper pack. I absolutely love the backing paper, it has to be my favourite.

Flower Faerie card

Flower Faeries card. Had the base of the card, added a decoupaged faerie, some ribbon and the greeting, plus I had the flower faerie rub ons so added a couple of them too. Very quick and pretty card to make.

Humphrey's corner card

Another Humphrey's corner card, this time an easel card. I've left the greeting off so I can add it at a later date when I need a quickly done hand made card. Anyone else keep a draw of cards without the greetings on them for occasions when you forget or its all very last minute?

Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge

Card made using the Humphrey's corner everyday die cut decoupage. Made for the Crafter's companion monthly challenge. (A little late for me this month).

This month is challenge 21 anything goes (and I can't resist an adorable Humphrey's corner card. This will probably be given to either my dad or step-dad on fathers day from my little girl.

Birthday celebrations!

I have just about recovered from Jessie's 3rd birthday (the party at least) and thought that I would share a few of my creations. Firstly pink cupcakes with edible glitter! I was fairly impressed with myself about how well these turned out! They were a big hit! It did take four batches of cake mix and a whole day but it was worth it.

The jelly was just pretty but still I was proud of it. Finally was the birthday cake! However I can take no credit for the cake, a friend's mum made it for my little girl. It was just so beautiful that I had to share it. Jessie absolutely loved it. I can't believe she's three!!!

Epiphany Embellishment maker

Just received my order from Crafter's Companion and I can't wait to try it out. It's just a shame that I haven't got time to try it out before next week! :(

Does look brilliant though. Making my own embellishments are going to make my cards and gifts match so well!!

Epiphany Crafts

I wasn't sure what to make of the new epiphany range that Crafter's Companion were launching but after watching a demonstration on Create and Craft I thought that it was fairly interesting and decided to place an order for one.
I decided on the round 25 as it seemed that that was the one I was most likely to use, though the idea of making my own button embellishments was appealing. The order was placed today and should arrive tomorrow or the day after and I shall post pictures of the finished result.
My crafting has been fairly slow going recently as I am gearing up for my daughters 3rd birthday party (being held in my small flat) meaning all my crafting stuff has had to be temporarily put away to make room for presents and all the toddler party items that seem to take up a lot of space.
After the weekend is over I shall be crafting again in full force (hopefully in a more organised fashion as I intend to fully organise and sort out before it all gets unpacked again).

Anna Griffin "Lizzie" quilt

Decided in the end to keep adding to my "Lizzie" quilt. This is the result of a full day of crafting with two very good friends. I am absolutely loving the fabric and intend to keep adding to it until I run out of this beautiful fabric.

Anna Griffin "Lizzie" fabric quilt

Added the final border and now just looking at backing fabric, thinking something yellow so I can finish it. I really love this fabric, going to see if I have enough left in my stash to make another quilt like this one. If not It'll go into my pile of scraps to be used in one big multicoloured quilt.

Next project has to be the dinosaurs but I need to see how I can best use that to make the most of the design.  I might have to order some extra, plainer fabric that co-ordinates with the dinosaurs as it is very busy fabric with lots of detail to it.

Mermaid quilt

And finally these are the fabrics I have for the mermaid quilt. I've bought it from several different websites, shops and shows (as I'm finding the coordinating fabric to be hard to find). I can't wait to get started on this quilt, it's all so pretty! I'm really happy with all the colours, just got to figure out the best way to put it all together to make the best of the fabric.

Dinosaur Quilt

This is one of my bigger up coming projects. One of Jessie's friends is turning four in the summer and as any typical little boy is, he is obsessed with dinosaurs. I'm going to use this fabric to make him a little quilt. I'm assuming I'm going to need a bit more fabric than I've got here but I'm going to play it by ear and see what I need as I make it, especially since I have the thick border (bottom right) to go round the outside of the quilt.

Because I was bored

A mixture of insomnia and boredom last night meant I couldn't sleep so I took advantage and made this. It's made with the Anna Griffin fabric collection called 'Lizzie'. Not sure if I'll make it bigger or turn it into a toddler quilt similar to the one I made for Jessie but we shall see. I have two bigger projects (which are coming up in later blog posts) which might mean this one has to take a back seat! However we shall see.

Making cakes with Jessie!

Been making cakes with Jessie today! She loves absolutely loves cooking, in fact she loves doing anything she thinks only grown ups do!!!

I subscribed to the Dora Explorer little cooks collection for her today and this is all from issue one! Banana muffin recipe, silicone cake cases and a Dora plate.

Needless to say she loved it and can't wait to eat them after dinner! She even helped make the actual dinner and wash up from making the cakes too!

Tilda Quilt

I've been working on this quilt for a little over a year now. I really love all the Tilda fabrics. My favourite is the current boarder (turquoise with pink birds). I say current border because I wanted this to be a double sized quilt. However it's gotten to be the right size for a single and I think it looks really good the way it is and I'm not sure whether to add more to it or not.Opinions and suggestions on this are much appreciated!
