Make Up Bag

I bought this fabric at the Malting's just because I thought it was really pretty. I had nothing that went with it in my stash but it actually turned out really useful.

I needed a new project and thought this one, an adapted version of the shopper bag from the Cath Kidston book Sew! would work well for me.
I really wanted a new make up bag as I have three small ones but they don't fit all my favourite things in just one to take on holiday with me. (Really annoying)

Now I have one that is the perfect size for all my bits and bobs with no fuss. So proud of this!
I am now planning my next quilt project. This will of course be made from the mermaid fabric but it's a tricky one to decipher because of how detailed the fabric with the mermaids is and it needs to be large to appreciate the detail of it.

I'll post up a sketch as soon as I have it worked out so that I can get your opinions.

Crafter's Companion Order

Okay, I admit it I've been doing some more sale shopping on the Crafter's Companion website. Not a huge order but keeps my crafting stash full to the brim! :) Loving my new stamp set, I have the CD to match so looking to make some fantastic cards soon.

New Fabric and Birthday Quilt

Here is the finished front of the quilt I've made for Jessie's birthday and below is the back of it.

I also took a trip to Creative Quilting up in Hampton Court as the next quilt I want to make is from the mermaid fabric that I bought from The Malthings. It is lovely fabric but I needed some more plain fabric to compliment the really busy mermaid panel.

I found some pinkish coral fabric that actually co-ordinates with the mermaids. The blue and yellow don't actually match it but co-ordinate nicely.

Also the bottom two I bought just because they were pretty but my colour choices mainly seem to compliment each other nicely so they fit in my stash really nicely.

I am forever buying fabric and paper crafting things just because they're pretty.

Jessie's Birthday Quilt (again)

It is official, I have at 23.05 on 29th January just finished Jessie's 3rd Birthday quilt. (Pictures to come when I can be bothered to find my camera!) I have a few other projects in mind for what to do next as I have just organised my fabric stash and have discovered some wonderful stuff that have sparked a few ideas.

Will keep you posted on what I start next! Thinking maybe a bag but I have to say that my crafting has slowed down considerably because I am powering through writing a novel and my characters have really inspired me recently.

This is what happens when you have too much to do everyday! :(

Strawberry Cushion

I haven't been very creative over the last few days so i haven't had anything to post here.

I was rummaging through photos and found this one. It is my beautiful little girl holding a strawberry cushion that I made. I made two overall and she loved them both and has them in her room now.

The reason I haven't posted anything recently is because I've been working on my novel. Apparently I can't craft and write my novels at the same time.

If anyone is interested in reading my new novel the link is posted at the bottom of the post. Comments are always appreciated. http://www.movellas.com/en/book/read/201110102131053832

Jessie's 3rd Birthday card

Following on from the quilt this is the birthday card that I've made for my little girl! Made mainly using the Crafter's Companion Ultimate Pro board  for the base shape of the card.

It is the perfect card for my little ballerina/princess.

Just need to make some matching cake boxes to take the cupcakes home in to match the ballerina theme.

I have to say that making everything is a lot cheaper than buying it all but it's a lot more work! :)

Jessie's quilt

As you can see I have now finished hand sewing the light pink ric rac round two squares in the middle of the quilt. All I have to go is finish the quilting and then it can be wrapped up for my daughters birthday! This picture really doesn't do the quilt justice!!!
Though I should say I was up till half two in the morning, determined to finish that pink ric rac and I've stabbed my fingers with the needle at least fifty times just doing the hand stitching!!! It'll be worth it in the end though!

New Stamps!!!

Found these for extremely cheap on ebay. Even though it pained me to not have the loyalty points from crafter's companion from buying them on their site my bank balance was certainly relieved!

I fell in love with the patch work numbers! I think that they are absolutely wonderful! Can't wait to get started stamping with them. The first project I have for them is my daughters third birthday card!

Tidying the Craft table

Before and after shots of my crafting table after a good tidy up!! It was much needed. As you can probably see I am a very messy crafter! Probably because I have way too much craft stuff. It has been said that I am addicted to shopping for crafting goodies and that's probably right. :)

Butterfly Gift Box

Created this for Unit Five (my final unit) for the papercraft qualification!

I was so pleased with how this turned out in the end. I didn't realise how good the apperture was going to look until I had fixed on the acetate!

It looked so good I think I might keep this one all to myself rather than sell/give it away!

Jessie's 3rd Birthday Quilt

This is the quilt I am in the process of making for Jessie's 3rd birthday! As you can see from the picture I am still hand stitching some pink ric rac to one edge of the quilt.

I think the colours are absolutely fantastic, so bright!!! The yellow around the edge (also the backing) was bought at the Maltings.

A work in progress still but looking good none the less! Next time it's posted on here it'll be finished with any luck.

The Maltings

Spent all day yesterday in Farnham at The Maltings buying fabric. There was a fantastic exhibition of quilts there which were so inspirational. Here is what I bought while there.

The first load of fabric from The Malthings. The top two don't really go with anything but I loved them so I bought them. The bottom three all match together and I thought that it would make a lovely neutral baby quilt.

I fell in love with these. I love the mermaids and the matching fabrics for the mermaid fabric.

Just to alternate from the bright and pastel pinks and blues that I tend to buy I thought that these brown, green and cream fabrics were beautiful. Planing on making them into a little bag.

Another load of fabrics that will probably end up made into a bag or something similar. You can probably tell that I love turquoise and pinks in fabrics. They're just so vibrant and eye catching.

These I already had a few items from the same range in my fabric stash and wanted to get some more so that I could make a nice quilt out of it.I thought that the dotty fabric would be a great next to the really busy, bright fabric. Overall though I thought the colours were fantastic.

Busy Bug Quilt

I made this quilt a while back when my cousin had a little boy. I really loved the bright colours of the quilt. It was the perfect size for a blanket and a play mat! Perfect for a little boy!

Two Strawberry Kisses Cards

Not sure which is my favourite but I have to say I am officially addicted to Strawberry kisses. They are so adorably cute! The birthday kitten might just be my favourite out of these two at least!
Today, seeing as I've been crafting all day I have two scrapbook pages, one decopatch lizard and two beautiful cards! Not bad for a day of crafting.
Not sure when I'm going to get another day of uninterrupted crafting while my lovely little girl spent the day (and night) at Nana's.
Tomorrow off to Farnham where I'll be stocking up on fabric. So after tomorrow there might be a few more quilt and fabric craft items up here as well as cards.

Decopatch Lizard

This is the product of one afternoon of crafting. My lovely friend Faye (http://creative-faye.blogspot.com/) bought me for my Christmas present! The colours haven't really showed up very well in the picture but it absolutely wonderful!

I think that I am officially addicted to Decopatch!!!!! I am going to have to get my hands on more now!!!!!

More Strawberry Kisses

Just because I couldn't resist getting the rest of the Strawberry kisses range once I had the first set!!!!

Beatrix Potter Card

Thought I would share this one with everyone! Simple card made using the Tales of Peter Rabbit stamp set and the matching CD. Also some blue card, checked blue ribbon and six small pearls. I coloured the stamped images with promarkers.

Wasn't sure if I wanted to add a sentiment or not so I left it off for the time being, this wonderful card will be going into my draw for those times where you need a card last minute and forgot to make one. (As I'm sure most crafter's have done at some point, I know I have!)

Cake crafting

In preparation for my daughters 3rd birthday I have begun buying party supplies. This year rather than spending a small fortune on someone else to make the cupcakes for the cupcake tower I have decided to give it a go myself! (How hard can it be?!?!?!)
I have strawberry clip and swirl icing that will hopefully make a large top to the cupcakes as well as silver cases for them, edible pink glitter and edible silver balls.
The little ballerina girl will sit on the cupcake at the top of the cupcake stand. Ballet is the theme of the party and friends of mine are making the main cake for it.

I can't wait to give these a go and will have to give them a test run before her actual birthday just to make sure that they're good!!!

Strawberry Kisses

Here is the first card I've made using the Strawberry kisses range. Think I have officially fallen in love with them! They are adorably cute. I also have to admit to ordering six more stamps from this range because they are just so fantastic.

I've used plain pink card stock as the base of the card, printed out paper and boarders from the Strawberry kisses CD. The Yum stamp from the strawberry kisses range and one small white doily. I've glazed the glass with diamond glaze and promarkers to colour in the stamp.

Strawberry kisses and Steampunk!

Oh how I love when the postman brings me crafty goodies in the mail. Today I received my recent order from Create and Craft who launched the beautiful Strawberry Kisses range from Crafter's Companion. I have already fallen in love with the cute images and backing papers.

Also arriving today was my fabulous Steampunk toppers and Tinkering with Steampunk CD from My Craft Studio.

Not sure what to have a play with first! I'm meant to be scrapbooking this afternoon as I have a huge pile of photos of my daughter that I'm putting all into a book to show her growing up. Although I'm not entirely sure I can resist a bit of card making now all my lovely goodies have arrived. :)

Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge

My first post to my brand new blog and I am presenting you with a card I made for the Crafter's companion monthly challenge. This month (Challenge 20) was Love is in the Air.

I have used the Humphrey's corner stamp "Hugs for you" as well as red and cream centura pearl card stock and a universal embossing board that I can't recall the brand or name of but has the word 'Darice' written on it. All the other embellishments came from my stash and the manufacturer is long since lost.

I do love the Humphrey's corner range and I can't wait to get my hands on Strawberry Kisses range, which I have just ordered from Create and Craft as I was so desperate to get my hands on it.
